Local holiday

ERODE: The district administration has declared a local holiday on March 25.

A release in this regard says the holiday is on account of the kundam festival in Bannari Amman temple in Sathyamangalam.

On the day, all State Government offices and schools will be closed, the release says and adds that to compensate the holiday, offices and schools shall function on April 12, 2008, a Saturday.

The holiday, however, will not come under Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, the release says and adds that offices where with important tasks will work with designated staff.

And, at Schools were SSLC and other public examinations are on, the holiday will not be applicable as well.
