Krishna to head election panel

NEW DELHI: S.M. Krishna, who recently resigned as Governor of Maharashtra to return to active politics in his home State of Karnataka, was on Saturday appointed the Chairman of the Election Management and Coordination Committee in the State.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Mallikarjuna Kharge has been appointed the Chairman of the Pradesh Election Committee and Siddharamaiah will head the Campaign Committee.

AICC general secretary in charge of Karnataka, Prithviraj Chavan will head the Coordination Committee.

The State is under President’s rule till end of May.
