Vigilance panels formed for PUC examination

MANGALORE: Deputy Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao has constituted two district-level and six taluk-level committees to prevent malpractices from happening during pre-university examinations to be held from March 17 to 29.

In an official press release here on Saturday, Mr. Rao said that he would be heading the district committees of revenue sub divisions of Mangalore and the Chief Executive Officer of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat A.M. Kunjappa would head the Puttur district committee. The committees of Mangalore, Bantwal and Moodbidri taluks would be headed by Mangalore Assistant Commissioner. Puttur, Sullia and Belthangady taluk-level committees would be headed by Puttur Assistant Commissioner, he said.

He has appointed nodal officers to pre-university colleges to supervise and ensure smooth conduct of the examinations.

Prohibitory orders have been clamped in 200-m radius of examination centres in the district from Monday till last day of the examinations, Mr. Rao said.
