‘Rail Bharo’ by BJP for separate Telangana

Partymen to go to Delhi by a special train on April 20

To present a memorandum to the President

HYDERABAD: As part of BJP’s campaign for separate Telangana, hundreds of activists will reach Delhi through a special train on April 20 and present a memorandum containing thousands of signatures to President Pratibha Patil the next day.

The details of the party’s ‘Rail Bharo’ programme were finalised at a meeting of in-charges, presidents of Telangana districts and State office-bearers held here on Saturday.

Addressing a press conference later, State BJP leaders Bandaru Dattatreya and Ch.Vidyasagar Rao said that a massive cultural programme would be organised at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on April 20. The ‘Rail Bharo’ would be followed by ‘Jail Bharo’ campaign.

They said Congress president Sonia Gandhi by keeping silent on Telangana during her visit to the State had insulted the people of the region. They also condemned her remarks against the previous NDA regime and faulted her for not mentioning about more than 4,800 suicides of farmers in the State.

The BJP leaders ridiculed the praises heaped by Ms. Gandhi on Chief Minister Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy saying it was the bounden duty of those in power to serve people.
