Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) Board will meet here for two days from Monday to discuss various matters including the appointment of the new ICC Chief Executive Officer. Malcolm Speed, the current CEO, will step down from his post during the ICC annual conference in June-July. “The Board will be asked to consider a recommendation from the four-member sub-committee tasked with overseeing the appointment of his successor,” an ICC release said. The sub-committee comprises ICC President Ray Mali, President-elect David Morgan, BCCI President Sharad Pawar and Cricket Australia Chairman Creagh O’Connor. Forensic auditThe Board will also consider the independent forensic audit of Zimbabwe Cricket, carried out by accountancy firm KPMG of South Africa. Another issue on the table will be the format for the 2011 World Cup which will be co-hosted by India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. IPL issuesA discussion will also take place relating to issues relating to the Indian Premier League Twenty20 tournament as well as the Indian Cricket League and the proposed Champions Twenty20 international tournament. The ICC Board is also expected to approve the trialling of more technology in helping umpires’ decisions in Tests. — PTI
