Zonal monitoring officer reviews works

Krishnagiri: Deputy Chairman, Tamil Nadu Maritime Board, and Zonal Monitoring officer C. Muthukumarasamy reviewed the progress of development works in various departments in a meeting at the Collectorate on Saturday. Collector Santhosh Babu presided over the meeting. He also reviewed the expenditure and financial components of the works, nature of works, administrative sanction and time taken to execute each work.
Earlier, Mr. Muthukumarasamy reviewed the construction of individual household toilets at Pattapalli in Uthangarai union. Stressing on the importance of toilets he asked villagers to make use of the subsidy provided by the Government for the construction of toilets. The Zonal officer also inspected the Adi-dravidars girls hostel at Uthangarai. He interacted with the students and enquired about the quality of food served in the hostel.
He also reviewed the implementation of the 2-acre land scheme, free house site pattas and issue of old age pension schemes. He directed officials concerned to take immediate action on genuine petitions and expedite development works on time. Project Officer District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Vittal Das and senior officials were present.
