Police warning to Holi revellers

BIDAR: Superintendent of Police A. Subramanyeshwara Rao has said that action will be taken against those splashing chemicals during Holi on Friday.

Speaking at a Citizens Advisory Committee meeting at his office here on Sunday, Mr. Rao said that those splashing chemicals would be dealt with severely by the police and the chemicals would be seized. He said that action would be initiated against revellers riding bikes without silencer.

On maintaining peace in Bidar city on the occasion of Holi, Id-Milad and Good Friday on March 21, Mr. Rao said that police personnel would be deployed at all sensitive areas and steps would be taken to prevent any untoward incidents. He appealed to the members of all the communities to celebrate the festivals in the right spirit without disturbing peace and communal harmony of the district.

Local leader Aravind Aralli said that Holi revellers should not be allowed put fire on the roads as they were newly laid.

Journalists Qaiser Rehman and Shivasharanappa Wali and councillors Ersahd Phailwan and Nagshetty spoke.
