Exemption from power curbs sought

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Roller Flour Mills Association has submitted a memorandum to the State Government seeking exemption from power curbs as it led to production loss and additional cost for the industry.

In a press release, the association president, K.S. Kamala Kannan, said they had sought exemption from rotational one day power holiday in a week and non drawal of power from grid during peak hours.

According to him, the present restrictions would led to closure of units for 40 hours a week, which translates to 24 per cent power cut and over 35 per cent loss in production. — Special Correspondent
