The district administration has drawn flak for allowing the event GADAG: Despite the ban imposed on the programme by the district administration, the “Trishul Diksha” was carried out under the leadership of president of the Rashtriya Hindu Sena Pramod Mutalik here on Sunday. Sri Rama Sena had organised the programme at Jagadamba Kalyana Mantapa here. Although the district administration had banned the event and also imposed prohibitory orders, scores of “trishuls” were distributed to Hindu Sena and Sri Rama Sena activists, as the police personnel remained mute spectators, sources said. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Mutalik and local convener of Sri Rama Sena Ravi Shidling criticised the police officials and district administration for imposing restrictions on the programme. Meanwhile, activists of the Karnataka Komu Souharda Vedike criticised the district administration and police officials for allowing the programme to take place despite the ban. Instead of initiating action against Mr. Mutalik and others for violating prohibitory orders, they were escorted out of the city, convener of the vedike Basavaraj Sulebhavi said.
