Secure clemency for Sarabjit: BJP

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: As news broke about Pakistan’s decision to hang Sarabjit Singh, Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh on Sunday urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to use diplomatic channels to secure clemency for him.

Mr. Rajnath Singh telephoned Dr. Singh and urged him to make efforts to save the life of the Indian.

Sarabjit had been in jail in Pakistan for the last 17 years for his alleged involvement in four bomb blasts in the neighbouring country in 1990.
