DCP summoned on habeas corpus petition

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court has summoned in person the Deputy Commissioner of Police, North Delhi, on a habeas corpus petition by the father of a Class XII student of Adarsh Nagar seeking a direction to the police to trace his daughter who he fears has been kidnapped by his neighbour.

Justice Vikramjit of the Court directed the DCP on Thursday to appear in person before the Court and explain why the girl had so far been not traced.

He submitted that his daughter had been missing since last November. He said that he had an apprehension that she had been kidnapped his neighbour.

He stated that though the police had arrested some relatives of the accused, but they had not been able to find his daughter.

The accused was also absconding, he added.
