‘Stock adequate medicines at CGHS dispensaries’

A second visit to collect medicines in CGHS dispensaries should be avoided at all costs. At least adequate stocks should be maintained for the sake of chronic patients. Authorities should restore the system of providing medicines for three months. A token system could be introduced and a helpline established to check the queue system. Why are ophthalmic, dental and laboratories are located on first floor in CGHS Begumpet? Elderly patients, those with arthritis, and cardiac ailments find it hard to climb the stairs. They should be shifted to ground floor.

M.I.Suryanarayana,

Durganagar Colony It is too difficult to wait in queue for a long and go through the cumbersome procedures at CGHS dispensaries. The service is far from satisfactory and the only solution lies in setting up of full-fledged hospital to make the scheme a real success.

S.Ramanathan,

East Anandbagh The CGHS can give medicines once in three months, where medicines and dosages do not change. A photocopier should also be made available in CGHS dispensaries so that people need not walk a kilometre for a single photocopy, which are suddenly demanded by the authorities. There was a system of placement of books at counters on first come first serve basis practiced by patients for their own convenience. This has been banned by CGHS and it insisted that everyone come in the queue. Previously we placed the books and rested on the steps.

M. Kamal Naidu,

Begumpet At the Dilsukhnagar dispensary medicines, including life saving drugs are not available. There is abnormal delay in supply of indented medicines and in settlement of reimbursement claims.

N. Venkateswarlu,

Dilsukhnagar

The CGHS should take suitable steps immediately help the senior citizens. They should be permitted to have tests at a single centre instead of having to go to the central lab at Begumpet or private labs in other parts of the city. Several medical insurance companies now offer health insurance facilities but seniors after certain age are ineligible to contribute. So unfortunately they get caught between the devil and the deep sea when major illness strikes.

R. Ramachandra Rao,

Vidyanagar
