Shopkeeper shot and injured

NEW DELHI: A 34-year-old shopkeeper sustained serious injuries when two unidentified young men allegedly shot at him in Bhajanpura here over the weekend.

Praveen Kumar, who runs a juice corner in Maujpur, had a minor altercation with a group of young men who were meddling with a motorcycle parked in front of his shop around 5 p.m.

A few hours later, two young men armed with country-made pistols barged into the shop and one of them allegedly fired at Praveen. They then fled with their friends who were waiting outside on their motorcycles.

Praveen was admitted to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital where his condition is said to be stable. A case has been registered at the Bhajanpura police station.
