Woman found hanging in her house

NEW DELHI: A 48-year-old woman was found hanging in her house at Laxmi Nagar here on Friday.

According to the police, the incident came to light when the victim’s husband, who works with Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited, returned home in the evening. When repeated knocks did not elicit any response, he along with some neighbours broke open the door and found Geeta Rani hanging from a ceiling fan.

In a suicide note, the victim said she was depressed due to her prolonged illness and was thus putting an end to her life, the police said.
