Walk-in interview: A walk-in-interview for appointment to the temporary post of lecturer at the University Institute of Technology (UIT), Pirappancode, will be held at 2 p.m. on March 22 at the chamber of the Pro Vice-Chancellor. The university had mistakenly notified that the interview would be held for the post at the UIT, Pappanamcode.

Technical assistant: A walk-in interview for appointment to the post of technical assistant at the university’s observatory will be held at 10 a.m. on March 24 at the chamber of the Pro Vice-Chancellor. Those with atleast 50 per cent in M.Sc. physics can apply. Appointment will be on contract. Applicants should not be aged over 35 as on January 1.

Degree semester exams: Application for the sixth semester BA, B.Sc. and B.Com. (vocational and restructured) examinations and for the B.Com. (three main with computer applications) examinations beginning April 10 can be submitted without fine till March 24 and with a fine of Rs. 50 till March 26 and Rs. 250 till March 28. Candidates should submit Rs. 200 as fee for the centralised valuation camp in addition to the examination fee.

M.Sc., M.Com.: Applications for the fourth semester M.Sc. and M.Com. (belated) examinations beginning April 9 can be submitted without fine till March 24 and with a fine of Rs. 50 till March 26 and Rs. 250 till March 28. The last date for submitting the thesis is April 30.

LL.B. mercy chance: Applications for the first semester LL.B. (three-year course), fifth semester LL.B (five year) mercy chance examinations scheduled for April can be submitted without fine till March 24 and with a fine of Rs. 50 till March 27 and Rs. 250 till March 31. Candidates should pay Rs. 200 as centralised valuation camp fee.

Examination dates: The third semester (three year) and seventh semester (five year) LL.B. examinations are on April 7, while the fifth semester LL.B. (five year), third semester LL.M. and the third semester MBL examinations are on March 25.

MDS examinations: Applications for the MDS part two examinations scheduled for June can be submitted without fine till March 25 and with a fine of Rs. 50 till March 29 and Rs. 250 till April 3. The last date for submitting the thesis is March 25.

MDS results: The results of the part two MDS examinations held in December 2007 have been published.

Research fellow: Applications have been invited for the post of junior research fellow for the project “Taxonomy and biodiversity of soft corals (Octocorallia: Alcyonacea) in India” funded by the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests. The fellowship will be Rs. 8,000 a month plus house rent allowance and the appointment will be for a year. The last date for submitting applications is March 20. Details can be had from Padmakumar at the Department of Aquatic Biology.
