Teppotsavam begins at Tirumala

TIRUMALA: The five-day annual Teppotsavam began at Tirumala on Monday evening.

The processional deities of Lord Rama, Lakshmana and Sita were mounted atop colourfully illuminated and tastefully decorated flotilla and was dragged in the holy Pushkarini (temple tank) situated adjacent to the main temple complex amidst religious fervour. Thousands congregated on the steps of the sacred Pushkarini and witnessed the colourful event. Earlier, the deities were taken around the mada streets encircling the shrine in a grand procession.
