38 held for selling banned raffle tickets

KARUR: Police have arrested 38 persons in connection with selling of banned raffle tickets in various parts of the district. They were found to be in possession of raffles from various states other than Tamil Nadu. Cash totalling Rs. 43,400 and 12 mobile phones were recovered.

Karur police also arrested four persons for allegedly marketing pirated video CDs in the town. Around 280 video CDs of new Tamil films, a colour television set and Rs. 1,380 in cash were seized from them.
