PUDUCHERRY: To study the recent Information Technology trends in the banking sector, the Department of Banking Technology of the Pondicherry University conducted a national seminar on Monday. The one-day seminar on ‘Emerging IT Trends in Banking Technology’ dealt with various aspects including transformation in retail banking, opportunities and challenges in banking technology. Experts from various IT companies including Satyam Computer Services, Cognizant Technology Services and Tata Consultancy Services spoke. A session on the changes in payment system was also part of the seminar. Director of Studies, Educational Innovations and Rural Reconstruction of the University S. Kuppuswami inaugurated the seminar. — Staff Reporter
