Probe sought into allotment of sites

BANGALORE: The Akhila Karnataka Kannada Yuva Vedike has urged Governor Rameshwar Thakur to recommend a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the alleged corruption in allotment of alternative sites by the Bangalore Development Authority.

Vedike president B.M. Shivakumar told presspersons here on Monday that some BDA officials, in collusion with middlemen, had allotted alternative sites, against norms. More than 1,000 sites had been distributed as alternative sites in the last two years, he said. He alleged that many corner sites, which were supposed to have been auctioned, had been distributed by bifurcating them, and that there was a large scale corruption in the allotment. — Staff Reporter
