RS polls: BC front flays Congress, Telugu Desam
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh BC United Front criticised both the Congress and Telugu Desam parties for ignoring the claims of Backward Classes while nominating candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections.
P. Ramakrishnaiah, president, said in a statement on Sunday that the former BSP State president Nalla Prakash Rao had attended the front’s annual conference earlier in the day and offered to have a poll alliance for the ensuing by-elections.
Parleys with TRS
The front, which decided to continue in its present form, authorised Desina Chinamallaiah to hold discussions with the Telangana Rashtra Samiti whether it was interested in ensuring social justice in the distribution of tickets for the by-elections.
If the party agreed to the distribution the front decided to support the TRS, if not it would in the fray.
The front decided to organise a ‘BCs simha garjana’ here on April 11 either at Nizam College or Gymkhana Grounds. The conference resolved to contest all seats in the 2009 Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
