Corrections and clarifications

* In a report “New Delhi rejects OIC comments” (March 17, 2008, page 1), the expansion of OIC was given as the “Organisation of Islamic Countries”. It should have been the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, as correctly mentioned in a PTI report “OIC extends support to the people of Kashmir” on March 16, 2008. The OIC is the second largest inter-governmental organisation after the United Nations and has membership of 57 states spread over four continents. It was established on a decision of a summit which took place in Rabat, Morocco, on September 25, 1969, as a result of an attack on the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem.

* In a report “Facile win for Lahore Badshahs” (“Sport”, March 14, 2008), the tenth paragraph said, “Maher hit a four before being bowled by Mahmood in the first over. Anirudh was run out after failing to beat Inzamam-ul-Haq’s throw from point to bowler Naved-ul-Hasan”, while the next paragraph said, “Anirudh offered a catch to Inzamam who moved to his left from first slip off Naved.” Anirudh Singh was run out while it was Ambati Rayudu who was caught by Inzamam off Naved. (The report was on the fifth game of the Indian Cricket League’s Edelweiss 20s Challenge.)
