COLOMBO: The military on Monday claimed that at least 29 LTTE cadre and three soldiers were killed along the Forward Defence Lines (FDLs). The Defence Ministry said at least 25 Tigers were also injured. The soldiers died and eight others suffered injuries during the operations aimed at “liberating Wanni region from the terrorist clutches.” Separately, the Ministry said it had opened a “green channel” for the doctors at the main roadblock at Madavachchiya from Monday onwards. “The measure has been taken to reduce the delays and complexities faced by the doctors travelling to Mannar and Vavuniya,” it said.
