Bhubaneswar: A high-level Chinese railway delegation on Monday held discussions with senior officials of the East Coast Railway zone here for developing of the proposed world class station in Orissa, official sources said. A 12-member Chinese team, headed by Wu Wei, Director of Sino-India Railway Co-operation Working Group, met the officials to discuss the project. A modern railway station would be established at Barang and named as New Bhubaneswar station, close to the Nandankanan zoological park, 12 km from here. They said the Chinese delegation came here for the field visit after Indian Railway Ministry signed an agreement with its Chinese counterpart on Jan. 14. Sources said the Indian Railways had roped in China Railway owing to its expertise in building modern railway stations. – PTI
