Police help lovers unite

ADILABAD: Adilabad police, especially Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar and I Town SI L. Jeevan Reddy were instrumental in uniting Mukesh and Deepa, childhood lovers who were on the run faced with opposition to their marriage from parents.
The girl who is from Adilabad but now lives in Hyderabad and the local boy had eloped a few days ago to get married in Maharashtra. However, the girl’s parents lodged a kidnap complaint at the Narayanguda police station in Hyderabad following which a police team from the city came to Adilabad to inquire on Sunday.
After day long deliberations, the police party took into custody Mukesh’s father and brothers and started for Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, Mr. Anil Kumar was informed that the couple had approached the Nanded police and proved themselves to be majors.
He immediately instructed the town police to trace the police party from Hyderabad . Mr. Jeevan Reddy convinced the police party to drop the persons in their custody back in Adilabad town.
On Monday, the couple told waiting media persons that they had waited for six years for the consent from their parents before deciding to elope.
