CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Monday refuted the statement of his Delhi counterpart Sheila Dikshit that “Haryana was supplying less water to Delhi from the Yamuna”. Addressing a press conference, Mr. Hooda asserted that Haryana had been supplying Delhi’s due share of water whereas the level of water in the Yamuna had come down by one-third as compared to last year. During these days last year the river had 6,000 cusecs of water but now it was 2,000 cusecs, he added. Mr. Hooda welcomed the Centre’s decision to amend its loan waiver scheme. He said Union Finance Minister P.Chidambaram had made an announcement about this during the debate on the scheme in Rajya Sabha on Monday. The Chief Minister denied any controversy about the two Congress candidates nominated from Haryana for the Rajya Sabha. Denying media reports, he said that both candidates had been finalised by the party high command after consulting him.
