‘Don’t vote for parties which are headed by Andhra leaders’ ‘Compare development done in Mahabubagar and Kadapa districts’
MAHABUNAGAR: Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao announced amidst cheers that if Telangana State is formed he would adopt Mahabubnagar district and ensure for its all-round development, specially provide irrigation facility to every cent of cultivatable land in the district by lifting Krishna water. Addressing a mammoth public meeting at M.V. S Degree College grounds on the town outskirts, he said that water would be lifted from fore shores of Jurala project and filled in a reservoir that would be constructed between Laxmidevipalli and Parvathapur villages in Kondurg mandal, which is at a height of 660 MSL. From that proposed reservoir the entire district would be provided water through gravity canal, he said. Talks with MaoistsHe said that naxalism had spread in the Telangana area because of the exploitation of Andhra rulers and added that he would hold discussions with Maoists after the formation of separate State and consider their just demands such as constitution of land commission to distribute land among the poor. He appealed to the Telangana voters not to vote for the parties which are headed and dominated by Andhra leaders. “Andhra settlers in Telangana region would not at any cost cast their vote to TRS, then why should Telangana voters cast their vote to those parties dominated by Andhra leaders,” he questioned the gathering. The TRS chief said that the public response to their Mahabubnagar Mahagarjana was a fitting reply to those who said that Telangana sentiment was less in south Telangana districts. Former Vice-Chancellor of Kakatiya University K. Jayashanker explained in length the injustices meted out to Telangana, particularly Mahabubnagar district. “The leaders who boast of development of Telangana region during the last four years rule of YSR should compare the development done in Mahabubagar and Kadapa districts,” the former Vice-Chancellot said amidst cheers from the crowd.
