MANGALORE: Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) is planning its overseas foray by setting up a representative office at Dubai in the next three to five months, its executive director, Allen C. A. Pereira, has said. The bank, which has also sent out feelers to another West Asian nation, Oman, to set up a representative office, had already held talks with financial authorities in Dubai. Addressing media persons on the eve of the inauguration of its 1,309th branch at Deralakatte here on Monday, Mr. Pereira said the bank had also approached the Insurance Regulatory Development Authority for insurance foray. OBC is setting up a joint venture with Canara Bank and HSBC Bank in this regard.
