DAZZLING PERFORMANCE: Students on stage at Kindergarten Annual Day of the Bishop Cotton’s Boys High School. BANGALORE: It is the season of graduation ceremonies. Should the new generation of toddlers be left behind in celebrating their elevation to next level? A firm no is the answer from many schools. So, at a grand function, Sri Vani Education Centre, Hanumavana, bid goodbye to its students of nursery section recently. Meenakshi Shivaramakrishna of Indian Montessori Centre and Usha Jagirdar of Aruna Chethana, who were the guests, gave tips to parents and teachers on nurturing talent. Every child was special and gifted, they said. As the young “graduates” climbed up the dais to receive their “diplomas”, they were all filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment. A few parents shared their experiences. A cultural programme, which was anchored by two toddlers Viranchi and Srusti, showcased the talent of graduating students. “Education is all about teaching perspective, lifelong learning, and the ability to adapt to change. We hope that our young graduates would be able to navigate with confidence through the challenges of their new world,” said vice-principal Karthiayani Bhat. Rhyme timeThe rhyme time “Tot rhapsody”, organised by the nursery section of Auden School, Banashankari, brought to life the classroom experiences of children. The colourful event witnessed by parents, teachers and invitees, provided a platform for children to showcase their talent. The singing and dancing children, dressed as stars, flowers, butterflies and ducks, showed that there was rhythm in the breezy winds. The presentations proved that rhymes were the sprightly tunes which tug the hearts of children and introduce them to various words, which they not only remember but also hum. Their exuberance was symbolically reflected through raving rhymes. The performance brought about a surge of excitement with a tad of fun and frolic. A presentation by upper kindergarten children was based on the festivals of India. A presentation on Panchatantra lingered on in the mind. Principal Shubha Madan thanked the parents for their cooperation. N. Ramanna, founder chairman of Auden Group of Institutions and Meena, trustee, were present. Annual dayAt the kindergarten annual day of Bishop Cotton Boys’ High School held here on Friday, the little ones impressed the audience with their performance on stage. It was also a pleasant break from the routine. Principal John Ellis said the school aimed at building a strong foundation for a sound development of all faculties in children. “At every stage, each child is guided on his journey of discovery, exploration, enquiry and experimentation. Individual brilliance and competence is nurtured not only for oneself but with a social dimension so that they emerge as responsible, compassionate and wonderful human beings,” Col. Ellis said. Deepak Mehrotra, Director (South), Bharti Airtel Ltd., was the chief guest and in his address, said that the country was witnessing growth in all areas. “We have to plan, design and fashion our curricular and other activities with a larger framework of future life to prepare children to face future challenges with confidence. General proficiency prizes were distributed to the students. Aryan Makecha, Daksh, Jethro Samuel, Verghese George Chandy, Viren Chhabria, Farhaan Jamal Safiulla, Aryan Shetty and Yohan Verghese were the outstanding students of LKG while Pranav, Jeffery Sam, Rehaan Ganapathy, Aryan Ghosh, Siddharth Soneja, Nikhil Bhat, Rishabh Rao, Ammaar Fouzan and Ayush Katyayana were adjudged the outstanding students in UKG.
