‘Kidnapped’ boy traced

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: A second year Pre-University student, who was reportedly kidnapped from the city on March 14, has been traced in Mumbai.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) S. Ravi told The Hindu here on Monday that T.R. Kaushik (18) was at the Matunga police station in Mumbai and a police team from Bangalore would go there to bring him back to the city. While there were reports that Kaushik had escaped from the clutches of his kidnapers and approached the police in Mumbai, Mr. Ravi said they were yet to ascertain whether the teenager was kidnapped.

On March 14, Kaushik’s mother lodged a complaint with the police that her son who left home at 11 a.m. had not returned till afternoon.
