Reduction in power generation

NEW DELHI: The Capital’s generation of power slipped to about 900 MW on Monday after one unit each of the Badarpur and Pragati plants were shut down for planned maintenance.

Power Department officials said though there was a reduction in the city’s own generation, there was no crisis as the demand for power was met without difficulty. “There was enough power to meet the city’s demand,” said an official.

While the power generation at Badarpur came down by 210 MW, the production at Pragati also came down by 200 MW. The city’s total generation was 902 MW and the maximum load on the system was recorded at 2,883 MW.
