Puducherry
PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry unit of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on Tuesday expressed concern over the difference of opinion among the Ministers as it had made the administration standstill. The executive of the DMK unit, chaired by convener of the party R. V. Janakiraman, said in a resolution that a situation had arisen in the Union Territory that the development projects, welfare schemes and the day-to-day administration might be paralysed, owing to the “infighting”. The issue should not be viewed as a problem confined to the Congress government but should be seen as a problem related to stagnation of the administration which had brought disrepute to the Democratic Progressive Alliance, the resolution added. The Congress high command should intervene immediately to end the stalemate through an amicable settlement, it said. Another resolution adopted by the DMK unit’s executive pleaded for passing the Women’s Reservation Bill in the current session of Parliament. It demanded implementation of reservation for the Backward Classes and the Most Backward Classes for the posts of assistants in the Pondicherry Engineering College.
