PUDUCHERRY: Close on the heels of a national seminar on ‘Technological creations in teaching-learning’ of the School of Education, Pondicherry University, the Department of History has embarked on a seminar for the 150th anniversary of India’s first liberation struggle of 1857. The School of Education had conducted the UGC-sponsored national seminar on March 15 and 16 to understand the major developments in educational technology, use of instructional resources and to develop technological skills and competencies in teaching. Information communication technology, role of EDUSAT in teacher education and innovations in teaching and learning were the thrust areas of the seminar. Director of M.P. Bhoj Open University, Jabalpur K.K. Tiwari, Dean of College Development Council of the Pondicherry University Venguttramane and professor of School of Education Mamota Das spoke. In view of the 150th anniversary of the 1857 revolt, the Department of History of Pondicherry University would conduct a national seminar on 1857 in Indian History, historiography and memory on March 21 and 22.
