Students assaulted in Attur

ATTUR: Tension prevailed in Bazaar Street here on Monday evening after a group assaulted two school students who were returning home after appearing for the Plus II examinations, police said.

They sustained injuries and were admitted to Attur Government Hospital. Protesting, parents and relatives of the students and residents blocked traffic on Cuddalore main road and demanded the arrest of those responsible.

While dispersing, agitators damaged three shops in the Attur new bus stand and the windshields of a few vehicles. Police arrested 17 persons.
