Chinna Reddy criticises KCR

Special Correspondent

Minister admits

to limitations on speaking about Telangana

HYDERABAD: Rural Development Minister G. Chinna Reddy has criticised Telangana Rashtra Samiti President K. Chandrasekhar Rao for trying to “brand” him as a supporter of united Andhra Pradesh with his “false” allegations.

Reiterating his support to the cause of separate Telangana state, the Minister admitted that he had some limitations on speaking regularly about Telangana because of being a member of the State Cabinet and a sincere Congress worker.

“It will not be proper on my part to criticise Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy or the party leadership every time. But at the same time, I will not become the supporter of a united State by being in the State Cabinet,” he said, and added that he is confident of Congress president Sonia Gandhi taking a positive decision on Telangana.

Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, Chinna Reddy said several development works have been launched by the Congress Government in Mahabubnagar district that was neglected by the previous Government despite being “adopted” by the then Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

While the district is the biggest beneficiary in free power scheme as well as waiver of power dues, it is receiving major allocations in the schemes like NREGP, the Minister said.
