Several injured in clash

Lucknow: Several people including mediamen were injured when lawyers clashed with employees of the State transport department near the district court premises here on Tuesday.

The trouble began after an altercation between a lawyer and a transport department employee over parking of a motorbike following which the lawyer was allegedly roughed up, police sources said.

Soon a large number of lawyers gathered at the spot and both sides indulged in heavy stone-pelting, sources said, adding, several people including some lensmen also suffered injuries.

Security personnel, including the Rapid Action Force, had been deployed in the area and senior officials had reached the spot, they added.
