Gadarwara murder raised in Assembly

BHOPAL: The murder of five persons, including a teacherand her parents, by unidentified assailants on Monday afternoon at Gadarwara in Narsinghpur district of Madhya Pradesh echoed in the State Assembly on Tuesday.

The matter was raised by the Congress during Zero Hour. The Speaker, Ishwardas Rohani, ruled that it be taken up for discussion on Wednesday.

According to reports received here, unidentified killers wearing masks entered the teacher, Manju Tiwari’s house for loot. When Manju’s father, Manmohan Tiwari, confronted them, he was fatally attacked. Other members of his family and a maidservant were also brutally hit by sharp-edged weapons. Four of them died on the spot while Manju succumbed to her injuries in hospital.

The loot and murder took place in a Gadarwara neighbourhood close to the police station, sparking mob fury. People hurled stones and even tried to set the police station on fire. The police fired a few rounds in the air and prohibitory orders were imposed to bring the situation under control.
