College bus knocks down motorist

HYDERABAD: A college bus went berserk leaving a motorcyclist dead and a pedestrian seriously injured at Rampally village in Keesara on city the outskirts on Tuesday.

At 9 a.m., the bus of Vatsalya Pharmacy College rammed into an oncoming motorcyclist M. Shankar, 35, and went on to hit another pedestrian Nanavath Puli Veeranna, 33. Injured Veeranna was shifted to a near-by hospital.

Villagers block road

Angered over the rash driving by the bus driver, who fled the spot, villagers blocked the road for over three hours urging the college management to announce compensation to Shankar’s family.

The police registered cases against the bus driver and the villagers for holding up the traffic for three hours.
