Anup Sridhar advised rest

BANGALORE: Anup Sridhar is keeping his fingers crossed on his chances of playing in the Indian Open badminton championship beginning in Hyderabad on April 2.

Sridhar was injured during his match against Taufik Hidayat of Indonesia in the Swiss Open championship last week and was forced to retire.

In a chat with The Hindu he said, “There is a tear in the left ankle and I could hardly put my foot down during that match. I came back last Saturday and underwent an MRI Scan. I am now undergoing treatment from Dr. Sharan Patil and I have been advised rest for a week.” — Special Correspondent
