Healthcare institutions come up with charter of demands

KOCHI: The Confederation of Private Healthcare Associations has set a charter of demands to enable better functioning of private healthcare institutions in the State. Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday, the members of various associations under the confederation said the State government should ensure a congenial atmosphere for the private hospitals to function.

The government should enact a legislation, like what the Andhra Pradesh government did last year, to punish the guilty who creates trouble in hospitals, the charter said.

The confederation also said the group medical insurance that the hospitals take for their employees should not have a clause that allows treatment at ESI hospitals.
