Applications invited for Stephen’s Principal’s post

Staff Reporter

Applicants should be between 50 and 60 years of age

The filled-in applications must reach the office on or before April 7

NEW DELHI: Even as Officer on Special Duty Valson Thampu demitted office on Tuesday after submitting his resignation this past week, St. Stephen’s College issued a fresh advertisement for the post of Principal of the institution.

The college has invited applications from those belonging to the Church of North India or a church in communion with it and have a Master’s degree in a relevant subject with at least 55 per cent marks and a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

The candidates must also have a total experience of 15 years of teaching and or post-doctoral research in universities/colleges and other institutions of higher education.

Applicants should be between 50 and 60 years of age.

The form will be available at the Office of the Chairman of the Supreme Council, 1, Church Lane.

The filled-in applications must reach the office on or before April 7.

This is the second time that the college has issued an advertisement for the post of Principal after it received a “poor response” to the earlier one released on February 12.

Qualifications

In a letter written past month, Dean of Colleges Prof. Nayanjot Lahiri had charged that the advertisement released was “not in conformity with the relevant provisions of the law and the qualifications prescribed for the post by the University Grants Commission and the University Ordinances”.
