Water supply in the Capital improves marginally
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: Water supply in the Capital has improved marginally following release of more water by Haryana.
The production of water in the city’s water treatment plants on Tuesday showed improvement, said a Delhi Jal Board official.
Haryana has restored the supply to 600 cusecs, which in turn has helped in bringing the pond level at Wazirabad up to the necessary level. “The Chandrawal water treatment plant will begin full production by Wednesday evening, while the Wazirabad plant is down by 25 per cent. The 600 cusecs that they have been releasing for the past three days has begun to show some difference in the pond levels that had fallen to a considerable extent,” said Jal Board officials. For the supply to return to normal, Haryana would have to continue releasing the quantum and it would take at least 48 hours for the supply to normalise, they added.
