TUMKUR: Tension was caused at the City Hall Circle in Tumkur on Tuesday following a row over the removal of a flex board. Supporters of the former Chief Minister S.M. Krishna erected a flex board in the morning after removing the flex board of Gowrishankara Swamiji, former junior seer of Siddaganga Math. Over a hundred youths from Kodigehalli and its surrounding villages arrived at the circle and protested against removal of the board. Basavaraj Babu said on March 6, they received Sri Gowrishankara Swamiji at the circle by erecting a huge cut out and a flex board. Police prevented the youths when they tried to reinstall the swamiji’s flex board by removing the one that was erected by the Congress. The flex board of Mr.Krishna was stated to have been put up by the Congress’s Tumkur City North and South Block Committees jointly. Officials confirmed that the two parties had not taken permission to erect the flex boards at the circle.
