Applications invited for posts of welfare workers

TIRUVANNAMALAI: Tiruvannamalai Collector Satyabrata Sahoo has invited applications from candidates in the 18-30 age group and who have studied up to Standard X, for the posts of ‘Makkal Nala Paniyalargal’ (people’s welfare workers) in the various panchayats in the district.

A release issued by the Collector said that there were vacancies in Endhal, Adi Annamalai, Thenmathur, Savalpoondi, Nallavanpalayam, Nadupattu, Ayyampalyam and Devanandal village panchayats in Tiruvannamalai panchayat union (PU), Kalingaleri, Mekkalur, Arumbakkam and J. Gudalur panchayats (Keezhpennathur PU), Sengunam, Endhuvambadi, Kalvasal, Renderipattu, Kuppam and Iluppagunam panchayats (Polur PU), Manzoorabad, Mattappirayur, Arumbalur and Nammedu panchayats (Chetput PU), Thanippadi panchayat (Thandrambattu PU), Korkkai panchayat (Cheyyar PU), Soundaryapuram, Arasur, Keezhkolathur and Perumbalai panchayats (Anakkavur PU), Kuthanur, Mamandur and Natteri panchayats (Vembakkam PU), Mambattu, Keezhpakkam and Ariyathur panchayats (Vandavasi PU), Nallur panchayat (Thellar PU), Jagannathapuram and Thavani panchayats (Peranamallur PU), and Kalleripattu, Nethapakkam and Panaiyur panchayats (Arni PU).

The selected candidates would be appointed on contract basis up to May 31 on an honorarium of Rs.950 a month and travelling allowance of Rs.50 a month. Applications, along with copies of the residence certificate, should reach the District Collector, Rural Development Section, Tiruvannamalai, before March 28.
