PUDUCHERRY: Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy has appealed to government employees to stop resorting to agitation. Referring to the recent protests of government employees, he said the employees should keep the welfare of the people in mind, even while highlighting their demands. “The government will look into their demands. They should understand the difficulties faced by the public owing to such protests,” he said, speaking at the International Women’s Day celebrations. The Women and Child Development Department organised the function, along with the Puducherry Women’s Commission and All India Radio of Puducherry. Unlike any other State, the Chief Minister said, anganwadi personnel in the Union Territory were posted as multi-purpose workers to take care of the welfare of children and women. Milk production had increased after the government gave subsidy to self-help groups for purchasing cows.
