Corrections and clarifications

* * In a cricket report “West wins with a bonus point” (“Sport”, March 18, 2008), the second paragraph said, “West, which had lost badly to North in the first round in Bangalore, made amends with a professional approach today.” The Sports Desk clarifies that West had lost badly to Central in the first round. (The report was on the Prof. D.B. Deodhar Trophy limited-overs cricket tournament at Hyderabad.)

* * A golf report “Woods extends his winning streak” (“Sport”, March 18, 2008) said in the sixth paragraph that “Despite starting the day tied for the lead among one of the most crowded 36-hole leader-boards on the Tour in recent years, [Tiger] Woods was considered the one to beat on Sunday.” It should have been the “most crowded 54-hole leader boards”. (The report was on the Arnold Palmer Invitational golf tour.)

* * The Sports Desk clarifies that in a report “Hamilton wins accident-filled Australian GP” (“Sport”, March 17, 2008), Ferraris picked up one point through Raikkonen, as mentioned in the results, in the worst season opener.
