Silver jubilee fete to end tomorrow

PANAJI: The closing ceremony of the silver jubilee celebrations of Thomas Stephens Konknni Kendr will be held on Friday. Fr. Antonio Pereira Konknni Puroskar will be given to Yusuf Sheikh by Archbishop of Goa Archdiocese Felipe Neri Ferrao, chief guest.

Eric Ozario, president of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy, will be guest of honour. Premanand Lotlikar, president of Dalgado Konkani Akademi, Purnanand Chari, president of Konkani Bhasha Mandal, Wilson Mazarello, convenor of Roman Lipi Action Front, and Fr. Anthony da Silva, Jesuit Provincial of Goa Province, will be other guests of honour.

The kendr has released three volumes of devotional songs, Bhakti Sobhanna, in CD form.The Konknni Martir Floriano Vaz Puroskar for 2007 will be conferred on Daniel F. da Souza for his Konkani book in Roman script Koslich Malis Nastana, according to Fr. Pratap Naik, kendr director.
