KOCHI: Ernakulam Town North police on Tuesday arrested a person hailing from Chennai in connection with burglaries in Kochi and Thrissur. He was identified as Rajan, 34, House No. 10, High Court Colony, Villivakkam. He was arrested from the Thrissur Railway Station. According to the police, Rajan was arrested during investigations into an incident in which cash and goods worth more than Rs.10 lakh were stolen from a super market owned by Sirajudeen of Cheranelloor. The police were able to trace the IMEI number of the mobile phone that was stolen from the super market. On interrogation, Rajan told the police that he was also involved in burglaries in the houses of Anoosh in Vaduthala and at the house of Ettuchirayil Thampi, a tenant on Karshaka Road in Vaduthala. The other cases were the burglaries in the houses of Joy Cheratayi on Karshaka Road, Vaduthala; TBS Publishers, MG Road, Thrissur; and at John Britta and Sons Margin Free Market, Ponekkara. In the last case, Rajan and his brother Shiva were involved, the police said.
