“Expand jurisdiction of Fast Track Court”

VIRUDHUNAGAR: Members of the Virudhunagar Bar Association staged a demonstration in front of the court complex here on Wednesday demanding expansion of geographical jurisdiction of the Fast Track Court (FTC).

Its secretary, K. Ravi, said that while over 2,100 cases were pending before the district courts, the FTC was handling only 150 cases.

“People from eastern corners of the districtare being forced to travel all the way to Srivilliputtur for the appeal cases. Revising the FTC’s jurisdiction will ease their burden,” Mr. Ravi said.
