Ashok Malhotra gets bail

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday granted bail to Ashok Malhotra, the main accused in the multi-crore land scam case here. The Central Bureau of Investigation had arrested him and his co-accused in the case last year.

Justice Rekha Sharma granted bail on his furnishing a personal bond of Rs.1 lakh with one surety of a like amount.

She asked him to surrender his passport to the trial court, co-operate with the investigating agency and report to it every alternate Monday.

A court here had last year rejected his bail application saying that the allegations against him were very serious.
