DCU calls for soil protection

KOLAR: Byalahalli Govindegowda, president of the District Cooperative Union, has expressed concern over the deteriorating fertility of soil from excessive use of chemicals and fertilisers in agriculture. Organic farming is the best solution to preserve the health of the soil and the people, he said, while inaugurating a training camp on organic farming at the DCU here on Tuesday. — Staff Correspondent
